Engagement model
Paid consulting begins only after both sides sign a written agreement. This page explains the path from first message to merged pull requests.
1. Problem brief
You share context: systems diagram, repo access boundaries, symptoms, and deadlines. We ask clarifying questions about data stores, deployment topology, and compliance constraints that affect logging or retention.
2. Technical discovery call
A 60–90 minute session with your engineering lead. We confirm whether the work sits squarely in backend engineering or should involve other specialists. No code changes happen in this step.
3. Written proposal
The proposal lists deliverables, assumptions, milestones, fees, payment schedule, and delivery terms. If something is uncertain (for example, legacy binary formats), we call it out instead of hiding risk in footnotes.
4. Kickoff and delivery
After acceptance, we work in your issue tracker or agreed channel, with reviewable increments and demo notes operations staff can follow. Handover includes runbook updates and explicit “known gaps” if scope had to narrow.
